The Sophia-Vereeniging has been preventing animal suffering since 1867. We do this through political lobbying for animal protection legislation and strict enforcement. We also conduct public and information campaigns. We tackle pet suffering at its source, putting the interests of animals first, not those of the owners. Our goal is a good life for all pets: no more pets that suffer, end up in a shelter or end up on the street.
